Raja Ampat: The Untouched Natural Beauty

Foreign tourists and local tourists has made Raja Ampat one of desirable tourist destination to visit. However, a distant location factors in the eastern part of Indonesia, the expensive cost is one of the factor that limits interest to traveling there.

There are four major islands in Raja Ampat, namely Batanta, Salawati, Missool, and Waigeo, besides another 600 small islands nearby. That is why it will required high transport costs to visit each island.

The islands Area in Raja Ampat is very large, consists 4.6 million ha of sea and land. In here lives 1,511 type of fish, 700 type of mollusks and 540 type of coral. The variety of these species have made this place as a living library of a collection of marine life and coral reefs. The Nature Conservancy and Conservation International estimate that there are around 75% of marine species live in the world of this amazing island.

When you arrive in Raja Ampat you could feel the excitement. You will see  people instantly praise the name of God because enchanted scenery outside. Or else you fell stunned silence as you see a speck of heaven in formed of crystal clear seas with gentle waves sweeping white sand.

Some well-known Raja Ampat Resort put fairly high rates paid in dollars. It's because of the most the tourists who come to stay are from Europe, so it is normal that they put tariffs like that.

But, we could save money choosing in at Raja Ampat. Do not stay in foreign nationals owned resorts, but it best that you stay in local's house or home stays. There are nearby villages like Yenbuba, Sawinggrai, Arborek and others, they have a home stay for the visitors and relatively cheap.

You could find local guides here is worked as an ordinary fisherman. These fishermen are usually accustomed to outsiders who come to visit the Raja Ampat, they are very friendly, especially if we give something like candy or fruits. Giving candy in here is considered good manners and will raises the smile of those fishermen.

Visiting Raja Ampat is almost like a dream, the beautiful scenery just as good as illusions. You could observe it when you dive underwater you will see the cute of marine animals that greet. Just like Pygmy sea horses will be approached as if wanna greet and make shake hands.The Mantaray and wobbegong will swim along with you. Barracuda, giant trevaliies, snapper, Tuna and even welcomed you under the sea. Do not miss the opportunity to observe the busy little fish keep its territory and forth. And If you are lucky enough you will be able to swim with sea turtles.

Its Natural beauty, and completely untouched is the main attraction here. I do not have praise the beauty of blue sky and the lush verdant island, This is a tropical paradise which rich of marine bio diversity in the world today.

You can also do trekking activity around the woods along the shore. You can see a variety of birds and nature orchids attached to the cliffs and trees. Make a note, that Kri island was deserted island, there was no settlement on the island, nor is there any available stalls to sell daily necessities.

For a comfortable travel, it is recommend to bring additional supplies such as bread, coffee, chocolate, and pastries for snacks, couple bottles of mineral water which it could be refilled at Home Stay Kitchen.  Do not forget to bring a small flashlight because the flame generator only work from 18:00 to 22:00 pm, also toiletries, towels, hats, mosquito repellent, and UV glasses.

Do not forget to bring your sunblock, sunscreen and a comfortable shirt to withstand coastal weather is hot. If you could bring an underwater camera to capture the beauty of underwater enchantment under the sea around the Kri Island. So do not hesitate to visit Raja Ampat for affordable traveling!
